About this file

This is a Work Write-Up document from the City of Jackson Community Development Department in Jackson, Michigan, involving a furnace replacement project for a residential property located at 711 Third St. The document specifies the requirements for replacing an existing furnace with a new 95% efficient, gas-fired forced air furnace that meets Michigan Mechanical Code standards. The project involves installing a new furnace with appropriate output capacity, relocating registers to floor or low wall positions, providing return air mechanisms, installing a new thermostat, and potentially repairing or replacing associated electrical and plumbing infrastructure as needed.

The project is part of a competitive sealed bid process for repairs to program-qualified homeowners, with bidders required to have Sam.gov registration, proper licensing, and necessary permits. While specific pricing details are not explicitly outlined, the document indicates that projects will be awarded to the qualified lowest bidder. The work write-up serves as a detailed specification for contractors, outlining precise installation requirements, including duct insulation, flexible duct usage, and compliance with local heating and ventilation standards for habitable rooms.
