About this file
This funeral cost sheet is issued by the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF), part of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC), and outlines service options and bidding requirements for inmate funeral and cremation services. The facility is soliciting vendor quotes for seven distinct service options, which include: removal and burial with granite marker (Option 1), removal and burial without marker (Option 2), cremation with graveside service and marker (Option 3), cremation with vendor-provided container and marker (Option 4), cremation with graveside service without marker (Option 5), cremation with mailed remains (Option 6), and cremation with mailed remains and vendor-provided container (Option 7). For all burial services, the facility provides the casket and clothing, while the selected contractor handles removal, transportation via funeral coach, and graveside services at the Chillicothe Correctional Facility Cemetery. For cremation services, the facility provides the cremation container unless specified otherwise. The selected contractor will serve as the primary contact for all inmate deaths and must provide service car removal on execution dates within one hour of the facility's assigned time.
If the inmate's family arranges their own funeral services, no charges apply to SOCF. All services, whether burial or cremation, must be scheduled by mutual agreement between the facility and the contractor. Bidders must submit pricing for each of the seven options as specified on the cost sheet. The funeral cost sheet does not specify response deadlines, award dates, or contract term information, though these details would typically be provided in the accompanying solicitation documents. Granite beveled markers measuring 2 feet by 1 foot by 8 inches by 6 inches, engraved with the inmate's name and birth and death years, are included with applicable options and must be delivered concurrently with service completion.
