November 1, 2023

Samplesville School District 1 School Drive Samplesville, MS 11111

To Erica Antonson, Acting Branch Chief, Grants Management Operations Branch:

The Samplesville School District provides this letter to indicate our commitment to serve as the program site and implementation partner for Samplesville Garden Club in their project, “Growing Samplesville Together.”

Samplesville School District is excited to partner with Samplesville Garden Club to expand school gardening efforts from two of our schools to all six schools within the district, as well as expanding local sourcing for the school district. Our district will support the education and gardening component of this project by providing locations at each school for school gardens and devote at least 10 hours per month of staff time to the garden project. Additionally, the school nutrition program director will work with Samplesville Garden Club to identify and source locally produced foods to feature in school meals that coordinate with and complement the garden-based education activities provided by Samplesville Garden Club.

Samplesville School District operates the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program in the six schools within our district, which serves 1,234 students grades K-12.

We believe this project has the potential to make a lasting impact for our students and the greater Samplesville community. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely, Jane Doe Jane Doe Superintendent, Samplesville School District
