About this file
This is an Outline of Work document from the Maine Forest Service for vehicle setup modifications in 2009. The project involves modifying vehicles to industry standards through comprehensive installation of emergency communication and lighting equipment. The scope of work includes installing a Havis Shield Consolidator series console with switch panel and siren control head, mounting a Havis Shield radio console in the cab center, installing a truck rack using stainless steel fasteners, mounting a Whelen Mini-Edge Strobe or similar red light on the rack headboard, and installing a Federal Signal MS100 siren speaker to the truck frame. Additional requirements include installing a 4-buss fuse panel under the console, running a 10-gauge main lead wire with a 50-amp maxi in-line fuse from the engine compartment through the firewall to a power distribution fuse block in the cab, and placing number decals on the front driver side, rear driver side, roof, and doors per department specifications. All wire-to-wire connections must be soldered and sealed with shrink wrap, and all work must comply with industry standards.
The document does not specify pricing terms, contract duration, renewal options, funding sources, set-asides, or incumbent information. The outline emphasizes that all wiring must be performed to industry standards with grounds kept as short as possible, and notes that vehicle strip-outs would reverse the setup process. The document references specific diagrams (Picture A and Diagram C) and indicates that certain installation details require coordination with the department representative.
