About this file

This document is an Amendment of Solicitation (Standard Form 30) for a Garbage Pick Up and Disposal contract (Solicitation Number FN1603-26) issued by UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries for the Coleman facility. The amendment includes a Questions and Answers section that provides critical details about the procurement, including that the contract involves a minimum of 2 waste pick-ups per week with potential for up to 5 pick-ups, utilizing (2) 30-yard compactors and (1) 40-yard compactor. The previous contract was valued at $1,227,642.80, and the exact contract performance start date will depend on the award date.

Key clarifications in the Q&A include: UNICOR officials will determine additional pickup needs with at least one day's notice, there is a set service schedule with potential for "on call" services, and the awarded contractor can request a site visit prior to performance. The contract is structured to accommodate the unique constraints of a corrections environment, with provisions for situations where service might be unexpectedly restricted, such as during facility lockdowns. The last day for questions was specified as October 30, 2025, and the contract will be administered by UNICOR.
