This project consist of fixing 2 slides and the drainage pit from a pre-law mining operation. The slide material will be disposed in two (2) designated waste areas. Water has ponded from previous mining. This water discharges over the hill directly above 2 homes and has caused landslides. The property owner had a contractor divert the water in another direction to minimize the drainage lubricating the slides.

All of these problems are being addresses in the reclamation project. The ponding water will be re-graded and eliminated. A permanent ditch will be constructed to a natural drain. A berm will be constructed so the water does not flow toward the slide area The slide will be excavated to rock. The contractor will have two options or a combinations of both methods to remove the unstable material. This material can be pushed down to the public roadway (Honeysuckle Lane). The material will then be loaded into trucks and hauled to the waste area. The other option is to reconstruct the existing road to the site. A portion of new road will also have to be constructed. The material then will be loaded in trucks and hauled to the waste area. The material will be placed in compacted lifts There are trees larger than 3 inches outside of the slide area that will have to be cut.
