About this file

This is a Solicitation Modification document issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, specifically by the Kentucky State Fair Board, for the procurement of Sodium Chloride Type 1 Grade 1 Road Salt. The solicitation seeks 400 tons of road salt to be delivered on an as-needed basis to the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center at 937 Phillips Lane, Louisville, Kentucky. The original solicitation was issued on September 23, 2026, and this modification (Version #2) was released on the same date to address vendor questions. The bid closing date is October 5, 2026, at 1:30 PM. Interested vendors must submit completed bid information indicating their best price and best delivery terms in accordance with the attached Terms and Conditions (Attachment A). Inquiries regarding the solicitation should be directed to Keith Srutowski at 502-564-7007.

The vendor must deliver sodium chloride in a free-flowing, usable condition with a moisture content not exceeding two percent, treated with an anti-caking agent to prevent caking or freezing during storage. The Kentucky State Fair Board will place orders for 40 tons or more at a time, with acceptance of quantities within 10 percent over or under the ordered amount. Product that does not meet specified conditions at delivery will be removed by the vendor at no cost to the KSFB; however, if weather conditions or the KSFB's operational needs dictate use of non-compliant material, it may be accepted at a negotiated price reduction. The estimated quantity of 400 tons is not guaranteed, and billing should be directed to the Kentucky Exposition Center Accounts Payable at PO Box 37130, Louisville, Kentucky 40233. Online bidding is permitted, and vendor signature is required unless the response is submitted electronically.
