About this file
This is a Request for Bid (RFB) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Division of Forestry for the procurement of wildfire pumper units. The solicitation, numbered RFB 758 2500000169, requests two distinct line items: seven UTV pumper units designed to fit a 2024 Yamaha 700 Viking EPS cargo bed and one engine pumper unit for truck mounting. The UTV units feature 40-gallon polypropylene tanks with Honda GXH50 engines and Koshin self-priming centrifugal pumps, while the engine pumper unit includes a 200-gallon poly tank with a National Fire Fighter model NFF2 24 hp Honda engine and Mercedes 2-stage centrifugal pump. The solicitation closes on October 9, 2024 at 1:30 PM, with bids submitted electronically or in hard copy. The contract will be awarded on a line-item basis as a one-year master agreement with four optional one-year renewals, effective upon award. Delivery must be included in the bid cost and completed in Frankfort, Kentucky at 800 Schenkel Lane, with vendors required to call 24 hours in advance for delivery directions.
Pricing is to be submitted as unit cost per line item, with vendors competing on best price and best delivery terms. All components, including tanks, pumps, hoses, and associated hardware, carry specific manufacturer requirements and material standards outlined in the detailed specifications. The UTV pumper units include a one-year warranty on all components, while the engine pumper units require a minimum three-year warranty. Both units must meet NFPA standards, and certain components of the engine pumper unit, such as the foam proportioning system and control panel, require agency approval. The solicitation specifies that vendors must acknowledge receipt and understanding of all terms and conditions, attachments, and any subsequent addenda by signature, with failure to comply resulting in potential vendor ineligibility.
