About this file
This document is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract posted by the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Radiation Control (BRC). The BRC is requesting to purchase two neutron radiation detectors that are compatible with mobile radiation detection systems manufactured by Radiation Solutions Inc. (RSI). The RSI neutron detectors are required to integrate with the existing RSI mobile systems owned by the BRC, the Florida Highway Patrol, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Homeland Security. The posting period is from April 18, 2022, to April 21, 2022.
The intended single source for the neutron detectors is Radiation Solutions, Inc. (RSI) at a price of $126,400.00. The justification for the single source is that the RSI Model RSN-4-Short (He-3) Neutron Detectors are the only detectors compatible with the RSI mobile radiation systems owned by the various agencies, and RSI is the sole manufacturer of these detectors.
