About this file
This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Notes document from the City of Detroit, Michigan, specifically the Office of Contracting & Procurement on behalf of the Construction and Demolition Department, for planned residential removal and replacement of fill material across 20 properties in Group 9 scheduled for January 14, 2026. The RFQ requires vendors to be pre-qualified suppliers under the Detroit Demolition Program RFQQ #1 for either planned residential or emergency residential demolition work. Vendors are strongly encouraged to visit assigned sites to understand current conditions that may affect bid pricing, as all responsibility for reviewing site information and documentation rests with the interested vendors. The actual quantity of material requiring removal and replacement may vary from the estimates provided in Tab 2 of the Fee Schedule, with compensation limited to materials actually removed or replaced. An Owner's representative must be present on-site for services outlined in Sections IV and V of the Scope of Services, and vendors must commence fill removal within the timeframe stipulated in the applicable Scope of Services dated on or after January 14, 2026.
Backfill material must be sourced from a Category 2 source approved on the City of Detroit Backfill platform, and vendors must comply with the "CDD_Abatement and Demolition_Contractor Discipline Policy" effective May 12, 2025. The City will disqualify vendors subject to disciplinary action as of the RFQ due date or those with assigned sites where fill removal has not commenced within the required timeframe. Bonds are required for this bid. The file does not specify response dates, award dates, or contract term details, and vendors are directed to consult the Contractor Resources Folder for additional policy documentation and the complete Scope of Services for Removal and Replacement of Fill Material.
