About this file
This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) notes document issued by the City of Detroit, Michigan, through the Office of Contracting & Procurement on behalf of the Construction and Demolition Department. The RFQ solicits qualified vendors for fill removal and replacement services on residential properties, specifically addressing a planned residential project involving 20 properties in Group 9, with a bid date of January 14, 2026. Vendors must visit assigned sites to understand current conditions that may affect bid pricing, as material estimates provided are preliminary and actual compensation will be based solely on quantities of material actually removed and replaced. An Owner's representative must be present on-site for services outlined in Sections IV and V of the Scope of Services, and vendors must commence fill removal within timeframes stipulated in the applicable Scope of Services dated on or after January 14, 2026.
Vendors must be pre-qualified suppliers under the Detroit Demolition Program's Request for Qualifications #1 for either Planned Residential or Emergency Residential demolition work and must comply with the CDD Abatement and Demolition Contractor Discipline Policy effective May 12, 2025. All backfill material must be sourced from Category 2 approved sources on the City of Detroit Backfill platform. The City will disqualify vendors subject to disciplinary action as of the RFQ due date or those with assigned sites where fill removal has not commenced within required timeframes. Performance bonds are required for this bid. Vendors assume all responsibility for reviewing available documentation and site conditions prior to submission, and the City of Detroit's contact information for inquiries is Demo-info@detroitmi.gov or (313) 224-4737.
