About this file

This is a specifications document for chain link fencing, gate operators, and handrails installation services issued by the Pinellas County School District in Florida. The project encompasses the furnishing and installation of various fencing types including galvanized chain link fence, vinyl fencing, handrails, pedestrian and bicycle railings, and gate operator equipment at school district facilities. The district solicited sealed electronic bids through its e-Procurement Portal with a submission deadline of 4:00 pm on Friday, June 12, 2026. Work must comply with industry standards including Chain Link Fence Manufacturers Institute (CLFMI) guidelines, ASTM specifications, and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Design Standards for fencing and pedestrian railing.

The specifications detail comprehensive material and installation requirements for multiple fence types and heights, ranging from 4 feet for sports spectator areas to 14 feet for baseball backstops, with specific requirements for kindergarten and elementary school playgrounds requiring double-knuckle design. Gate operators must be provided by approved manufacturers including Viking, Hy-Security, Stanley, B&B, Chamberlain, and Automation Corporation, with control systems from specified vendors. The contractor must respond to gate operator repair requests within 24 hours. All materials must meet strict galvanization and coating standards, concrete footings must achieve 2500 psi minimum compressive strength, and no barbed wire is permitted on Pinellas School District projects. The specifications reference detailed drawings for fence layout, height specifications, gate locations, and bracing requirements that govern final installation.
