About this file
This document contains the specifications for the installation of 235 feet of six-foot-tall wooden privacy fence at the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Shawnee Sub-area located at 21416 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Shawnee, Kansas. The project requires alternative pricing for pressure-treated lumber or cedar materials, and the contractor will be responsible for installing the fence, including metal posts, rails, and vertical wooden boards or pickets. The contractor must obtain any necessary permits from the City of Shawnee and provide seven working days' notice to KDOT before beginning the project. KDOT will notify the contractor of all underground utilities, but the contractor is responsible for locating any other utilities.
The document also includes requirements for the types of fasteners to be used, the depth of fence post installation, and the layout drawings for the project. Alternate pricing is requested for the removal and disposal of the existing fence. The contractor should contact Drake Jennings at 816-835-7383 to schedule an appointment to measure and clarify all KDOT requirements for this project, as the existing privacy fence has already been removed.
