About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Florida Department of Corrections (Department) to solicit information from experienced childcare service providers. The Department is seeking to establish a new childcare facility located outside the secure area of one or more of its properties in Marion County, Florida. The facility will provide preference to Departmental staff and contractors, but also be available for public use, with the goal of ensuring staff access to reliable childcare in close proximity to their workplaces with accommodating schedules.

The RFI requests information on the provider's ability to prepare for, staff, and operate such a facility, including addressing common risks, issues, or barriers, and the costs involved. Providers are asked to detail their current contracts, licenses, certifications, and ability to build, renovate, or maintain a facility on the Department's property. The RFI timeline indicates responses are due by September 30, 2024, with potential vendor meetings scheduled for October 2024. The Department may use the information gathered to determine the appropriate solicitation method and specifications for any subsequent competitive procurement of childcare services.
