About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers record from a Pre-Bid Meeting for a roadway construction project, involving the Department of Public Works (DPW), with contact information for DPW Director David Silvia, Jr. The project involves road reconstruction with specific technical requirements, including a roadway width of 11' 6" and a total pavement thickness of 2.5" using RIDOT binder. The work is expected to start as soon as possible and must be completed before November 15, with site preparation, landscaping, and final touches outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP).
Key project specifications include preparing the site, matching existing pavement elevations, loaming and seeding new edges, and ensuring proper pavement installation. Bidders are advised that prep work should be included in the bid, and the new pavement must align precisely with existing pavement. Additional technical details were discussed during the pre-bid meeting, such as the relevance of orange markers in the southeast corner of the site (which were noted as having no significance). Interested contractors can obtain further information by contacting the DPW Director at the provided phone number.
