About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation FA9401-25-Q-0027, related to POFA Equipment-HP Cables for the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Nuclear Weapons Center. The Q&A addresses two technical concerns raised about the statement of work: first, a cable weight specification for the SFT-600 cable (0.25 lbs/ft vs. 0.30 lbs/ft), and second, potential heating issues with 7/16 DIN connectors and adapters at 1500W @ 1575 MHz. The government representatives determined both concerns were acceptable, with clarification that the cable weight specification can be met based on vendor documentation, and the heat concern is something they routinely manage in field operations. The document concludes by instructing the vendor to proceed with the solicitation as these technical concerns have been resolved.

Question & Answers:
We have a couple concerns on the requirements listed in the statement of work.
Q1: The cable weight requirement of 0.25 lbs/ft cannot be met with SFT-600, which is closer to 0.30 lbs/ft.
A1: The spec sheet we have on the SFT-600 states .25lbs/ft but after further research we found another that has the weight identified by the vendor so that is acceptable for us.
Q2: The 7/16 DIN connectors and adapters run the risk of heating up at 1500W @ 1575 MHz.
A2: For the heat concern, that should not be an issue. It is something we already deal with in the field today and we constantly monitor for safety reasons.
Please proceed as these two concerns are not an issue and are acceptable.
