About this file

This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for federal contract opportunity FA930226Q0017 concerning flooring replacement work.

The flooring project involves carpet removal and vinyl plank flooring installation in Building 1643. The vinyl plank flooring specifications are provided by the government and detailed in Statement of Work Section 2.0. All areas have been tested by Civil Engineering for hazardous materials including asbestos and lead paint with negative results; no further testing is required. The project is fully funded. Layout drawings identifying the flooring replacement areas are located on pages 22 and 23 of the Statement of Work, spanning multiple rooms or floors within the building. The existing carpet is glued directly to a concrete subfloor with no tack strips present. The vinyl plank flooring will be installed directly on the existing concrete subfloor without underlayment. The Contractor Program Manager is not required to be a direct employee of the Prime Contractor or remain on-site at all times during work performance. No limitations on subcontracting apply to this requirement. Detailed floor plans with measurements are provided in Appendix 1 to determine the approximate square footage of carpet to be removed, vinyl plank flooring to be installed, and linear footage of cove base required.
