Q2. How do we obtain our flight line driver’s license

A2. Personnel will need to take a test that is administered by Civil Engineer (CE) personnel and also perform an actual driving test.

Q3. Are some of the stand-alone buildings secure?

Q7. Is there any rent associated with the space assigned on Contractors row?

(to include weed pulling) to ensure it is well maintained. They have to maintain the building to pass inspections conducted by the Government.

Q8. When do you anticipate award?

A8. The contract will be awarded 1 October, but the decision on who it will be awarded to should be determined sometime in August. We also plan to award a transition contract to take place in September.

Q9. Is there a separate clearance process for getting into Air Force Research Lab (AFRL)?

A9. Yes.

Q10. Where are the majority of the buildings located? Main base vs AFRL.

A10. A majority of buildings are located in the main base area. Buildings with similar building numbers are located near each other. AFRL buildings use 8000 and 9000 series numbering.

North Base uses building numbers in the 4200 – 4500 range. South Base uses numbers in the 100

– 700 range. The AFP42 building number system is not related to and is separate from the

Edwards AFB/AFRL building number system. Most AFP42 buildings are located geographically close to each other on the south side of the airfield except for B554 and 554D which are located on the north side of the air field and must be accessed from Site-2 Rd and Ave M.

pg. 2 of 11

Generally, buildings are scattered throughout Edwards and AFRL and viewing the base via

Google maps should give you a general idea of the how the buildings and the base are laid out.

Q11. Are access requirements by building or by location?

A11. It depends. For example, the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program would require a separate clearance for its facilities, the same would be the case for AFRL, South Base, North Base, etc.

each would have its own additional form of security clearance processing in order to access their buildings.

Q12. Will multiple buildings have difference forms of access?

A12. Yes. Some May have a badge, key, keycards, etc. It depends on the building.

A13. Yes, but we anticipate the process should be quicker.

Q14. Is there any cost for the contractor to get them through the security process for each location?

A14. No cost, but the government is limited in the number of personnel that they can submit access for.

Q15. How many programs are located on base?

A15: There are approximately 15 different programs, but that number fluctuates as new programs arrive and existing programs leave.

Q16. Will we put together a list of employees based on seniority from the current contract?

A17. Building numbers are located within the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

CBA. The official Federal Holiday Schedule is located on the OPM website.
