STATEMENT OF WORK

Overhead Doors for FS#2

Air Force Plant 42 - Palmdale, CA

24 May 2016

1.0 SUMMARY

1.1 Furnish and install Four (4) 16’x16’ and Three (3) 15’x16’ Ribbed Insulated Steel Sectional Doors. Doors will be painted to match existing door. This is a complete turn-key installation, including take down and dispose of existing 7 Overhead Coiling

Service Doors, running all power wires and conduit, and supplying a forklift and man lift.

The objective of this project is to meet code per DODI 6055.06, Table E3.T1, Minimum Level of Service Objectives--

Operations, Fire has 5 minutes to get out first ARFF truck to the scene of an unannounced Aircraft emergency on the runways within 5 minutes Aggregate Response Time. Aggregate includes 1 minute for the ECC to receive and transmit the alarm; 1 minute for firefighters to bunker out and initiate response from the station, and 3 minutes to reach the scene. At fire station 2, if the doors are working normally the stall door take about 36 seconds to open which allows us to meet our response time.

However, if the doors fail to open normally and required manual operation it takes 6 minutes and 50 seconds for two personnel to open the doors. The new door system is designed to meet DODI 6055.06, Table E3.T1, “Minimum Level of Service

Objectives”.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK

Furnish and install Four (4) 16’x16’ and Three (3) 15’x16’ Ribbed Insulated Steel Sectional Doors. All Seven doors with one horse trolly openers. These are overhead sectional doors 22 gauge panels with windows in the middle panel. Doors will be painted to match existing door. This is a complete turn-key install, including the running all power wires and conduit, removing the old rolling steel doors and hauling them away, supplying a forklift and man lift.

3.0 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment and technical expertise necessary to remove old Overhead doors and install 7 new Ribbed Insulated Steel Sectional doors.

3.2 The contractor shall accomplish project objectives by complying with the requirements specified herein and per applicable codes, standards and regulations.

3.2 Disposal

3.2.1 Take down and dispose of 7 existing Overhead Coiling Service Doors

3.2.2 Equipment

Furnish and install Ribbed Insulated Steel Sectional Doors, with (4) 25" x 12" Double Thermal Acrylic Oval Visions in #3

Section of each door, 100,000 High Cycle Springs, Standard RAL Powder Coated Finish #8001; Include Motor Operators

RSX Trolley 3/4hp, 3phase, w/Brake, Photo eye and Bottom Miller Edge.

(4) 16'0" X 16'0", Ribbed Insulated Steel Sectional Doors

(3) 15'0" x 16'0", Ribbed Insulated Steel Sectional Doors

Includes Electrical Connections and Start Up.

Contractor shall provide all equipment and tools necessary to perform all project requirements.

3.3 Regulatory requirements:

Comply with the rules and regulations of AFP 42.

Comply with the rules and regulations of the Federal UFC / UFGS standards, State, City of Palmdale, AFP 42 installation requirements.

Installation procedures or any part thereof are required to be in accordance with the recommendations and requirements of the manufacturer of materials and equipment being installed. Printed copies of materials and equipment installation instructions and recommendations shall be furnished to the designated AFP 42 CE or designated Government representative.

3.4 Administrative Requirements

Contractor shall field verify all dimensions, calibration, and start-up.

Contractor shall keep work areas clean at all times, remove all waste in a timely manner, and eliminate dust and flying debris throughout duration of installaton.

Any items damaged by contractor employees and/or any subcontractors while working on this project will be the contractor’s responsibility to repair and/or replace.

All workers for this project shall be cleared by the AFP42 security and given an AFP42 temporary worker’s badge for the duration of installation.
