1.Existing Mechanical Room on the third floor does not have proper firewalls or fire stopping. The project does not appear to specifically address this issue and we wanted to confirm that it is not to be part of this project.
THIS IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CURRENT SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
2.According to our ceiling tile installer the ACT tile materials specified in section 09510 are no longer in production.
Substitute Armstrong 584 Cirrus Tegular, fine texture with 15/16" grid.
Color white.
3.What specific items are known to have lead and require lead abatement from previous project on this floor? Specifications call for lead removal (and seem to indicate that the paint is what is in question) but documents do not state where the lead contaminated material is so we can properly quantify it. From what we saw during the walk down we do not plan on disrupting the paint.
REFER TO M1 NOTE 7 ‐ ALL PAINTED ITEMS CONTAIN LEAD PAINT INCLUDING
EXISTING CEILING.
4. Clarification on duct insulation abatement. Specifications division 02080 Part 3.7 Item D. indicates ductwork is insulated with a non‐asbestos material and drawing M1 Demolition note 1 indicates the insulation is asbestos. Which is correct?
TREAT ALL DUCTWORK INSULATION AS ASBESTOS
5. Can you confirm that the ductwork to be removed is sheet metal and not ductboard.
THE DUCT IS THE ORGINAL MATERIALS. IT IS BELIEVED THAT IT IS METAL
BUT THIS CAN NOT BE CONFIRMED.
6. Specifications division 02085 Part 3.2 Item B. Number 4. does not give a period of time for this testing. Please clarify how long air monitoring is to be conducted.
7. Specifications division 09510 Part 1.6 Item A. requires a specific temperature and humidity for acoustical ceiling installation. Does existing HVAC have this capability to control to these levels
8. Drawing IF1. Confirm that this drawing is indicating the only Furniture we are to required to relocate, store and reinstall.
Drawing IF1 only shows the systems furniture. Conventional desks, chairs, File cabinets, credenzas, computer tables, and other tables are not shown on this drawing but are in all the other offices and must also be moved. Recommend bidders visit the jobsite to see all the furniture in these rooms.
9. Drawing M4. Provide size of piping stub‐outs and valves shown coming off 2.5" HWS near ME RM A302. Do both pipes connect to HWS?
STUB‐OUTS SHOULD BE 2". THE DETAIL ON SHT M4 IS IN ERROR. ONE PIPE
SHOULD CONNECT TO THE HWS AND THE OTHER TO THE HWR
10. Drawing M4. Provide size of piping from just outside ME RM A302 and feeding phase one area.
2 ‐1/2"
11. The fixture schedule references a dual level ballast but the electrical drawing wiring layout does not represent a dual level motion sensor. Are the motion sensors to be dual level? Do you spec. a motion sensor?
Answer: The fixture schedule indicates a 120 volt, 60 hertz, high efficient program start ballast not a dual level ballast. If the contractor wants to provide a multi tap ballast that is fine but we only need the 120v. Yes the motion sensor is indicated in the specification under section 16140 2.1E.
The manufacturer gives the option to connect up to either 120v or 277v as shown in the lighting diagram
