About this file

This document is a Sources Sought Market Research Request from the Department of the Air Force Headquarters Air Force Test Center (AFMC) at Edwards Air Force Base, seeking potential vendors for replacing an aged process air heater system. The requirement involves modernizing a 60-year-old process air heater, remote control panel, liquid rheostat, transformer, and switchgear, with associated building modifications to accommodate space and access requirements. The existing equipment poses significant safety risks, including arc flash hazards, and has performance issues such as cooling water leaks and incomplete temperature output.

Vendors registered under NAICS Code 541330 (Engineering Services) with a business size standard of $25M are invited to respond to a comprehensive market research questionnaire by 17 April 2025 at 10:00 AM CST. The document requests detailed information from potential vendors, including technical capabilities, previous similar contracts, business size/classification, potential contract vehicles, prototype development approaches, and intellectual property considerations. Responses must be submitted to greggory.jones.4@us.af.mil in Word or PowerPoint format, 11-12 font size, and no more than 10 pages. Attachments include a Statement of Objectives (SOO) documents, with one available only after validation of the vendor's NIST SP 800-171 Assessment.
