About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) set for Solicitation Number FA860425RB030, providing detailed clarifications about a Storage Aid System project for Ebbing Field Air National Guard base in Arkansas. The Q&A addresses specific technical requirements across multiple Contract Line Items (CLINs), including mobile storage systems, modular cabinets, workstations, and a pilferables cage. Key details include drawer configurations (with specific height specifications ranging from 3" to 10"), mobile aisle widths of 3.5 feet, sprinkler clearance heights of 10 feet, and precise dimensions for various system components like the pilferables cage (16' x 16' x 10'H) and workstation configurations.

The Q&A document provides granular technical guidance for potential contractors, clarifying design specifications for each system component. Responses reference revised drawings and provide specific measurements for elements like foldable counter attachments (24" +/- 4"), man door dimensions (36" width, 68" height), and drawer partition requirements (ensuring 20 compartments per drawer). The document serves as a critical reference for vendors preparing detailed proposals, offering precise technical parameters that will help ensure accurate bid submissions for this small business set-aside project with a 230-day performance period.

Length of foldable attachment should be 24” +/- 4” with similar width and at the same height as the work bench. Bracket supported attachments would be acceptable. See revised drawings.

7. Can a ‘Get Acquainted Site Visit’. Item 4 in the “Contractor. Information” document provides for a ‘get acquainted’ site visit, is this visit gov’t funded?

Site visits are always allowed and can be arranged through the base contact. They are not gov funded. If the contracted is awarded, there will be a non gov funded “post award” where on site clarification can be held.

BUILDING 108 (next three questions).

8. “IPE MOBILE AISLE”. Please explain what “IPE” means.

Individual Protection Equipment – vests, helmets, goggles and etc.

9. “CENTRAL STORAGE PALLET RACK”. Please specify the CLIN for this equipment call-out.

No clin, it’s simply a name for that area.

10. CLIN 0006 Mobile Storage. AEB306-01 and AEB306-03 specify “BIN SHELVING (INSERTS FOR MOBILE AISLE)”. Please explain this phrase. This depicts the bin shelving from appendix D as an “insert” or an attachment to the mobile aisle carriage/ system that is to be installed.

BUILDING 200 (next question).

SOLICITATION PACKAGE

12. Computer-Aided Design Files. Please provide the following drawing files in CAD format:

a) AEB306_01

b) AEB306_02

c) AEB306_03

d) AEB306_04

These can be provided upon request by e-mail from each contractor interested in receiving them. Email christy.delk@us.af.mil .

13. CLINS 0002 through 0004:

a) Please provide a description of the test loads the government will use to conduct the required testing.

b) This information would include: the pallet material (e.g., wood), pallet dimensions, and load distribution on the pallet. The purpose of this request is to evaluate and ensure components are adequately designed to meet or exceed test requirements.

The information provided in the testing section of each appendix will explain how the tests are conducted. The loads consist of any material from clothing to raw materials (steel, wood, etc.) in the facility and will be loaded on a range of different size pallets. All equipment should be capable of handling typical industrial storage conditions.

14. CLIN 0005

a) Please provide a description of the test loads the government will use to conduct the required testing.

b) This information would include: The material (e.g.,steel), material dimensions, and load positioning on the rack arms. The purpose of this request is to evaluate and ensure components are adequately designed to meet or exceed test requirements.

The information provided in the testing section of each appendix will explain how the tests are conducted. The load will consist of raw material such as wood and metal. All equipment should be capable of handling typical industrial storage conditions.

15. APPENDIX A:

a) What is the quantity and location of capacity labels? (the 8 ½” x 11” labels / placards)

On every beam location facing out and one for uprights for each pallet rack. Totaling 51 for each beam and 12 for the uprights. Users on base might have preferred locations for the capacity labels.
