FA8604‐23‐R‐B011

Minneapolis St. Paul IAP ARS, MN Questions/Answers Set 5 Date 24 July 2023

Questions/Responses:

1. The frame capacity requested is 20,000 pounds which the 5” frames on the ground technically meet, however the manufacturer does not recommend nor will warranty the product if that much capacity is actually required (normally the requested maximum capacity is 12,500 for this GRC which the 5” meets). They have recommended going with 6” frames if 20,000 pounds is truly needed. Should we proceed with 5” frames, or quote 6” frames?”

Conveyor Capacity and Roller Frame Capacity are not the same. Please see the sections pulled from the specifications below.

3.2.1. CONVEYOR CAPACITY

Conveyor capacity shall be a minimum 2,000 pounds per lineal foot with a safety factor of 1.92 to 1.

3.2.6.3. ROLLER FRAMES

Roller frames shall be minimum 5‐inch tall at 5.4 pounds‐per‐foot structural steel channel or a formed channel with physical and performance characteristics meeting or exceeding those of the structural channel. The inside frame width shall be 6 inches. All frames shall be single sections without a joint where possible. Frame sections shall be bolted together flush end‐to‐ end with lock washers or selflocking nuts to provide a continuous, level conveying surface. Axle holes shall be punched in the high position on the channel. Axles shall easily slide into and out of the axle hole without binding or interference from the frame. All roller frames shall be galvanized.

2. IS THE TAB THAT WE HAVE TO ATTACH THE BRACING TO AT THE TOP OF THE RAFTER ALREADY INSTALLED AND IS THE BOLT HOLE ALREADY DRILLED IN IT? I WOULD GUESS THAT IT IS BUT

THAT WOULD ADD SOME SIGNIFICANT WORK IF IT ISNT.

The attachment points for the runway are in place, as depicted in the provided drawings and pictures. Four holes are located in each attachment point, as shown in the provided drawings and pictures.
