About this file
This document is a Minimum Requirements specification for an Off-Axis Parabolic (OAP) Mirror to be procured by the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) for use in Extreme Light Laboratory experiments.
The OAP mirror must be manufactured from Fused Silica with the following substrate specifications: 30mm diameter, parabolic focus at 45 degrees, surface roughness less than 1nm RMS, scratch/dig specification 20-10, polished backside, and 30mm focal length. The coating requirements specify protected Gold with average reflectivity of 97% or greater, a reflectivity wavelength of 780 ± 40nm, and reflectivity angle of incidence at 45 degrees. Equipment will be shipped to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal and proper use for two years after receipt. Payment terms require 100% payment after delivery with a net payment period of 30 days from the invoice date. The period of performance will be confirmed after receipt of order (ARO).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
FOR AN
OFF-AXIS PARABOLIC (OAP) MIRROR
18 JUNE 2025
GENERAL
The OAP mirrors are critical components of the Extreme Light Laboratory experiments using an ultra-intense laser to create a plasma resulting in radiation of various energies and intensities.
These OPA mirrors are customized off-axis parabolic mirrors.
The minimum requirements for the OAP Mirror:
1. The substrate is Fused Silica
a. 30mm in diameter
b. parabolic focus at 45 degrees
c. surface roughness <1nm RMS
d. scratch/dig specification 20-10
e. backside polished
f. 30 mm focal length
2. Coating run on Fused Silica
a. protected Gold, average reflectivity of >/=97%
b. reflectivity wavelength of 780+/- 40nm
c. reflectivity angle of incidence at 45 degrees.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
The customer—the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT)—will be confirmed ARO (after receipt of order)
DELIVERY AND TRAINING
Equipment will be shipped to WPAFB.
WARRANTY
Free from defects in material and workmanship, under normal and proper use in accordance with equipment user manual, for the period of time of two years after receipt.
PAYMENTS
100% payment after delivery and 30 days net from the date of invoice
