About this file
This is a Vendor Questions and Government Answers document for a federal procurement of cancer care treatment chairs, with responses issued as of September 17, 2026.
The document addresses three key vendor inquiries regarding specification requirements and country-of-origin restrictions. The government clarified that powered recline functionality is mandatory per the Statement of Work and cannot be substituted with manual hand control mechanisms. Regarding manufacturing origin, Taiwan is designated as an ineligible country with no exceptions permitted for this effort, meaning Taiwan-manufactured goods cannot be accepted. Additionally, the government requires swing-away arms rather than fold-down arms, as the swing-away design is necessary for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) purposes. These responses establish binding technical and supply-chain requirements that vendors must meet to achieve compliance with the solicitation.
