About this file

This document is a Vendor Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation Number FA860125Q00086, dated 01 MAY 2025, relating to a Temperature and Humidity Controlled Glove Box procurement. The Q&A session involves three vendors seeking clarification on technical specifications, including temperature control (16-40 degrees Celsius), humidity range (3-90 Percent), and oxygen sensor requirements (< 1 to 20 Percent). The government responses detail specific technical components needed, such as a Platinum RTD with sealing gland, humidity sensor with ± 3% accuracy, molecular sieve canisters, a drying train system, nebulizer, oxygen sensor, and circulation vacuum pump. The document provides precise technical parameters to help vendors accurately quote the required environmental control equipment for what appears to be a specialized scientific or research application.

Solicitation Number: FA860125Q00086

Vendor #1 Question: Humidity, Temperature and Oxygen (there is a o2 sensor in the description so we assume some form of control is needed?

Government Response to Question #1:

• Temperature controlled to an accuracy of ± 1 degrees Celsius.

• Platinum RTD with sealing gland.

• Humidity Sensor with humidity controlled to an accuracy of ± 3% Relative Humidity.

• Humidity (Rh) transmitter with 8 feet of sensor cable.

• Drying Train System

• Canisters containing Molecular Sive

• Nebulizer for the Rh system.

• Room temperature and Rh read outs.

• Oxygen Sensor

• Circulation vacuum pump

Vendor #2 Question: Can you provide clarity on what canisters of molecular sieve is? Also there is a requirement for temperature control. I need to know what those parameters are to accurately quote that. Also, the specification calls for a Drying train system. Can you tell me if when they need the ability to operate the system to remove O2 and H2O while not using the humidity control or just remove O2 with the presence of water in the system?

Government Response to Question #2: Molecular sieve is a material that is used to remove moisture from an enclosed environment such as a glove box or a sealed cabinet. A canister of molecular sieve is a container that holds the material. We need the drying train to remove water from the environment of the glove box. (Also, see response to Q1).

Vendor #3 Question: What is the range of temperature control and what is the range of moisture control. For example below ambient requires different cost than above ambient. +4 deg. C ambient up to 40 degrees. or 10 below ambient up to 40 deg. C requires both above and below controls. Moisture control is the same, for example 5-95% RH is quite common. Please specify the range of control needed in addition to the accuracy of the sensor. O2 control again the rang could be anywhere from 0-100% and the +/- accuracy is needed to accurately bid this unit

Government Response to Question #3: Temperature range is 16 to 40 degree C, Humidity range is 3 to 90 Percent, O2 range is < 1 to 20 Percent.
