About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for a C-17 Scaffolding Solicitation. The solicitation is for the purchase of scaffolding equipment only, with no rental or erection/dismantle services required. The scaffolding is intended to support personnel performing maintenance activities on a C-17 aircraft, with a maximum of five personnel expected on the scaffolding at any given time. The scaffolding must be free-standing and will only contact the aircraft on the cargo deck.
Key technical specifications include using a cup-lock system for the scaffolding, which will be used in the avionics and aft center areas of the aircraft. The scaffolding must comply with OSHA standards and DAFMAN 91-203. An example material breakdown is provided, listing components such as stair stringers, ladders, vertical posts, horizontal members, clamps, and other scaffolding accessories. The material breakdown is noted as informational only and should be considered an example, not a definitive requirement. The document clarifies that when pricing the scaffolding, the total price should be distributed across 8 sets, with each set's unit price contributing to the total price.
