Date: 27 February 2019
Solicitation: FA8533-19-R-0003
Question: Concerning the above solicitation, is it still a pre-solicitation as the FBO suggests or is it an RFQ with a due date of 2/28/19? Please advise.
Answer: This is a full Request for Proposals which is attached to the presolicitation notice on FBO. The due date has been extended through 1 March 2019.
Question: During our evaluation of the subject solicitation’s Technical Data we noticed the drawings listed below are missing from the package. Would it be possible to forward those drawings to us so we can complete our proposal?
Answer: I've heard that there have been some issues with FedBizOps recently with data packages.
Would you mind downloading the data package again to see if that corrects the issue of missing drawings?
Question: Can you clarify is this unit is still made by Spec Tool Company or if there are plans in existence to work from - is this Build-to-print or Build-to-spec?
Answer: First, this a competitive, Build to Print acquisition. The Technical Data Package is available to download off of FBO. Second, we do have a First Article Testing requirement tied to this acquisition. The FAT may be waived and Functional Verification may be utilized instead if you have produced this trailer for other entities. Specific details on that can be found within the FBO posting as well.
Question: I called the OEM Spec Tool Company and they said they still are a supplier and were curious why the unit was sent out to bid. Can you clarify?
Answer: Spec Tool has supplied the U.S. Government with this trailer, and you are welcome to propose for this five-year effort.
File details come from the government source that posted it.
