FA8227-24-Q-AXIS Questions and Answers:
1. Do you have any recommended/approved rigging companies?
There are some common companies that operate on Hill Air Force Base, but we cannot recommend a rigging company.
2. Are you looking for us to install the foundation for this machine or just specify it and the site will physically construct the foundation?”
We are looking for a site prep drawing specifically from the manufacturer, including floor pad depth isolation and support weight.
3. Regarding the RFQ in the subject line, would you be able to provide the serial number of the item you are looking for?
There is no serial number we can provide. This requirement is for a 5-Axis Mill. Please refer to the details of the Purchase Description.
4. We are interested in competing for this solicitation, but only one manufacturer offers the control that is requested in the solicitation, limiting competition. Was this solicitation meant to be posted as a sole source?
This is not a sole source solicitation. The controllers we are looking for must have conversational programming, with the ability to check the programing and model it in the controller. The controllers must also have Standard G and M code software with available cad cam software capabilities. The requirement is not specific to a manufacturer.
5. Will you accept an alternative for the control?
Alternative controllers will be accepted.
6. Will you accept FOB Origin?
No, quote must be FOB Destination.
