3.4.1 All compressors shall demonstrate their capability to perform “as advertised” by completing the following tests:
3.4.2 Each compressor shall run continuously without shutting down due to alarm for 48 hours while operating as the primary compressor. The cooling systems will be verified at the same time by preventing the compressors from alarming due to heat related issues during the same 48-hour period.
3.4.3 Volume flow rate will be verified by GR by observing existing volume flow rate meter installed on the compressed air room’s outlet pipe. GR will take into account the output value re-rated for altitude and ambient air temperature as well as the tolerances of the meter itself.
3.4.4 Compressor must maintain a pressure of 100 to 115 psi throughout the 48-hour test as measured by the compressor. Random samples just outside the compressor room may also be taken to verify compressor reading. GR will take into account pressure losses from piping, fittings, etc.
3.4.5 The primary compressor is defined as the compressor that is the first to come on based on required demand. This can easily be set by adjusting the “start pressure” setpoints on all online compressors so that the primary is set to come on first.
4.1 Special Asset Tagging
The contractor shall provide special asset tags IAW MIL STD-130, DODI 8320.04, Item Unique
Identification (IUID) Standards for Tangible Personal Property and DFARS 252.211-7003, Item
