1.) Does any type of service history exist on the number and frequency of service calls on the units to be included in the contract? Understanding the general frequency of required remedial service would be helpful in providing a contract offering the best value.

Answer: Since the previous contract was awarded there were an average of 22 service call per month. The majority of these calls were able to be resolved without using the T&M clin which is used when the cost of repairs exceeds $500.

2.) Are equipment relocations to be included as part of the scope of work of the base contract or will the contractor be allowed to issue a quote for machine relocations and invoice those separately?

Answer: Relocations are not to be considered as part of the scope of the base award. Relocations will be done by issuing individual task orders.

3.) Is there any history about the frequency of machine relocation requirements?

Answer: On the previous contract there were 13 total relocations in the 3 year period of performance. This gives an average of just over 4 relocations per year.

4.) Is there an estimate of the number of relocations that might be required over the next twelve months?

Answer: Historically there were an average of about 4 relocations per year on previous contracts.

5.) In reviewing Appendix B, it appears you have had up to four dedicated technicians assigned to performing the maintenance services in the past or you estimate it will require four technicians to perform the work covered under the contract satisfactorily. Is our assumption correct?

Answer: This is a performance based effort, thus the contractor determines the number of employees they need to perform the level of service

6.) Appendix B asks for pricing for relocation and disposal, are you looking for pricing on an individual unit basis? Because different models have varying heights and other aspects of complexity it can be difficult to quote in this fashion. Again, our goal is to provide a price proposal that will offer the government maximum benefit at the lowest possible price and the more information we have concerning these expectations helps us put together that number.

Answer: Historically the contractor has provided relocation at a Firm Fixed Priced category rate. The contractor should establish firm fixed pricing for categories A through F in Appendix B
