1. SCOPE:
1.1 TITLE: Handheld Display Modification for the AN/TMQ-53 Tactical Meteorological Observing System (TMOS).
1.2 PURPOSE: Replace obsolete QMD101M Handheld Device with a function and interface equivalent.
1.3 PWS APPLICABILITY: The tasks in this CET are within the scope of the Contractor Logistics Support Contract for the AN/TMQ-53 Tactical Meteorological Observing System.
1.4 APPLICABILITY: All AN/TMQ-53 TMOS currently on contract, plus all spares.
1.5 BACKGROUND: The TMOS CLS contract provides for enhancements and upgrades due to technical refresh of component capability, obsolete component replacement, and diminished manufacturing sources. The TMOS Handheld Device has become obsolete and requires a functional replacement to be identified, integrated, and fielded. The Handheld Device provides a means to setup parameters in the TMOS Data Logger, display instrument measurements and calculations, and display equipment alarms for maintenance troubleshooting. The replacement Handheld Device will also add a wireless communications capability to the Data Logger.
