About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the remanufacture of C-5M Nose Landing Gear Right Angle Gearboxes for the Department of the Air Force at Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill AFB. The solicitation seeks a contractor to remanufacture two specific gearbox part numbers (NSN 1620-01-160-6348 and NSN 1620-01-160-6351) from an "F-condition" (unserviceable but repairable) to an "A-condition" (fully serviceable) state. The estimated annual demand is nine left-hand and nine right-hand gearboxes, with the work to be performed at the contractor's facility following specific technical orders and quality standards.
The contract requires comprehensive remanufacturing processes including tear-down, testing, evaluation, parts replacement, inspection, and restoration to original specifications. The contractor must comply with strict quality control requirements (AS9100:2015 certification), Item Unique Identification (IUID) marking, packaging, and reporting standards. The government anticipates awarding a single firm-fixed price contract, with Sargent Aerospace & Defense LLC identified as the preferred contractor due to their ownership of the necessary technical data. The remanufactured gearboxes are critical components for the C-5M aircraft landing gear system, with a maximum remanufacturing turnaround time of 26 weeks per asset.

The Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAVAF) application provides a web-based, 432 automated method of tracking Government owned reparable assets as they flow through 433 the repair cycle at the contractor's repair facility. The main purpose of CAVAF is to 434 provide an inventory management system for reparable assets while they are at 435 commercial repair vendors. CAVAF on the World Wide Web allows the contractor to 436 report transactions as they occur. These transactions automatically update the CAVAF 437 database. An integrated, relational database allows the commercial repair vendors to 438 access their repair data to produce all the required status and activity reports. 439
The Contractor shall manage and report all assets within the CAVAF System, available at 441 https://www.cavaf.com. Accurate and timely reporting of maintenance transactions into 442
CAV AF is critical to the management of repair requirements and the management of 443 world-wide asset distribution. Contractor is required to comply with all CAV AF 444 requirements identified in the CDRLs and attachments to the contract. Additionally, upon 445 completion of the repair, the contractor is required to print the DD1348-1 (in triplicate) 446 from CAV AF. Place one copy on the outside of the shipment container, one copy inside 447 the shipment container, and retain the third copy for the contractor's records. 448
