About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for the 2026 HAFB WoW Air Show Sound & Visual solicitation (FA8201-26-R-005), issued by the Department of the Air Force Sustainment Center at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The final deadline for inquiries was February 10, 2026 at 1200 MST. The document addresses contractor questions regarding audio/sound system requirements for an air show scheduled for June 26-28, 2026, with setup beginning June 24 and teardown completed by 10:00 PM on June 28. The Government will provide a site map and site visit to the awarded contractor prior to the air show weekend, with the Air Boss platform positioned approximately 50-75 yards from the airfield tower base.

Key technical requirements include providing self-powered loudspeaker systems covering up to 2,500 linear feet of crowd line at 90-120 foot intervals with audio coverage extending at least 500 feet into the crowd over aircraft and ambient noise, sufficient to cover VIP, DV, and media zones adjacent to the main crowd line. The contractor must provide the elevated platform/trailer for equipment, wireless microphones for announcers/commentators, quiet generators (50-60 dB), and coordinate RF frequencies with the Air Boss prior to Friday rehearsal. Expected attendance is 60,000 people per day, with show hours from 0900-1600 on June 26-27 and ending by 1600 on June 28. Setup access begins June 24 at approximately 1200 hours, with the contractor required to be on-base before public crowd arrival. Past contracts have been awarded through community partners. The solicitation uses a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation process requiring technical acceptability across price, past performance at similar events, and technical approach before price evaluation occurs.
