About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) document with answers addressing the replacement of a ridge cap hangar roof for Building B824.
The document provides clarification on two key inquiries: First, regarding the existing fall protection system warranty, the answer confirms there is no current manufacturer warranty in place, and a one-year warranty is required for the replacement system. Second, concerning the structural support elements for fall protection anchors, the response identifies that the anchors are welded to a steel pipe, which is then welded to the steel trusses at the top chord. The document includes detailed structural drawings (reference D3/A-506) that specify the fall arrest anchor point is designed to resist a 5000 lb maximum static load positioned 2 feet 6 inches above the top of the roof truss. The drawings depict the ridge cap detail at the steel support location, showing the metal roof assembly including the ridge cap, insulation system, metal roof deck, and steel beam components. These technical specifications and clarifications provide essential guidance for contractors preparing proposals for the hangar roof replacement project.
