About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document for WWYK190021, addressing contractor inquiries regarding overhead door repair and replacement at Fire Station B989, Tinker Air Force Base.

The project is a Design-Build procurement requiring the contractor to demolish existing overhead doors and install four new Cornell 1024 High Performance Rapid Rolling Overhead Doors (two on the east side, two on the west side, approximately 14 ft x 16 ft, subject to field verification). Key contractor responsibilities include: providing complete structural design with calculations, shop drawings, and sealed drawings for all new supports, brackets, headers, and attachments; removing existing door motors, disconnects, and wall-mounted remotes; reusing existing conduit and conductors for new installations (with immediate notification to the Contracting Officer if existing infrastructure does not meet code); material testing and inspections; and delivery of record drawings and as-built drawings in native editable AutoCAD .dwg format. Wind-load requirements must comply with SOW 4.4.1(1), and the contractor must verify door opening dimensions and locations during the submittal phase. Performance period is 145 calendar days (including weather days per Tinker General Requirements 00 70 00 1.3.5). No liquidated damages apply. Testing and commissioning requires Government witness testing. Certified payroll submissions and a full-time onsite SSHO are required. All contractors and subcontractors must maintain NIST SP 800-171 compliance and obtain CMMC certification. Subcontractor and vendor quotations must be submitted with the initial proposal; the Government will not accept quotes after proposal submission. Dumpsters may remain onsite overnight if covered to prevent Foreign Object Damage (FOD) per Tinker AFB specifications. The contractor is responsible for temporary power and water and must comply with TAFB vehicle registration requirements for base access.
