About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract CSS# FA813226Q0046 concerning the procurement of a Big Joe Furnace Parts Loader. Amendment 1 was issued to incorporate vendor questions and government responses from the Subject Matter Expert (SME).

The document addresses three primary vendor inquiries regarding equipment compatibility with the existing operational environment. Regarding photographs of the current setup, the SME provided available images of the machine's outriggers/legs and aisle floor rail guidance system, though additional angle photos could not be provided due to restricted items in the surrounding area. For aisle width specifications, the SME clarified that the main aisle accommodates approximately 18 feet of clearance, with the equipment requiring operational capability in aisles as narrow as approximately 12 feet. Regarding the current equipment model, the SME indicated that the existing machine is obsolete and specified that vendors should propose a Big Joe WS40 or equivalent model to meet the requirement. No response dates, award dates, pricing information, or contract vehicle type is identified in this Q&A document.

VENDOR QUESTIONS AND GOVERNMENT RESPONSES FROM SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME)

CSS# FA813226Q0046 - FA813226Q0046- Big Joe Furnace Parts Loader

***AMENDMENT 1: This CSS has been changed to include Questions and Answers (Q&A) for this Requirement ***

Question regarding current setup that would show the model requested that will properly fit and operate within the existing rail guidance system.

See below the Vendor Questions and the SME Responses in Red Text:

Vendor Question 1: Photos of Current Setup

• A clear photo of the bottom and side of the current machine’s outriggers/legs.

• A photo of the aisle floor showing the rail guidance system currently installed.

1. SME Response to Vendor Question 1: Attached are the photos the SME could take in response to the vendor’s request. Unfortunately, the Gov SME cannot take photos at any other angles, due to items in the area around it that would be restricted in releasing images of.

Vendor Question 2: Aisle Width

• The exact clear distance from pallet-to-pallet or rack-to-rack in the narrowest aisle where the equipment will operate.

• SME Response to Vendor Question 2: The main aisle the current lift sits in is ~18ft wide. The narrowest aisle it would realistically need to operate in is ~12ft wide.

Vendor Question 3: Current Equipment Model

• The exact model number of the machine currently being used in that guided aisle (if available).

2. SME Response to Vendor Question 3: The current model is old and obsolete; as such, we are requesting a Big Joe WS40 or Equivalent.
