ACS Replacement Bldg 9001 and 3220 Questions and Answers
• The bill of materials lists a total of (51) P3245-V cameras with multiple mounting options – conduit back box, recessed mount, and pendant wall mount – in the same quantities. Are these meant to be options or are all mounts required?
This is what was provided as a solution to 76 SWEG for the 38th EIG/EN. The primary requirement is all equipment will need to be compatible with Genetec software for both cameras and ACS equipment.
• Is a backup battery (UPS) needed for the system being installed in either building? If so, how long does it need to run?
Back up batteries for the ACS system are needed but only need to have a 2hr back up time as the system is on the backup bus in both buildings.
• Apart from the 1U Racks specified on the bill of materials, is there rack space available in the rooms where rack-mounted equipment (switches, NVRs, etc.) is located?
76 SWEG has rack space to mount the requested equipment. If additional equipment is part of the winning contractor’s solution, we can accommodate. As long as, it is not an abundant amount of extra equipment. (i.e. 2 or 3 per building could be accommodated)
• Will new wiring have to be run for the readers, cctv cameras,POE switches?
New wiring will be needed for all POE Cameras and Switches. There may be some Cat6 needed for the ACS but there is NOT a need for the low voltage wiring to the readers.
• Is plenum wire acceptable?
Yes, required for all Comm Wiring inside a building
• Are any of the cctv cameras to be mounted higher than 10'?
Yes, and the Government WILL NOT provide any lifts.
• What height are the cameras over ten feet?
While I do not have an exact height the max height I can estimate is 50’ to the top of the building, The cameras should be mounted on the side of the building, so the 50’ should give a buffer.
• Can you provide the fiber schedule (or layout) for the buildings in order for us to better understand the network topology? This is an existing security system and we can only provide the existing topology to the winning contractor. The topology we are asking them to develop will add to our existing topology via switches, ip addresses, and additionally the network they will install via the CCTV system.
• The bill of materials provided specifies the Composite Iclass SEOS Smart Card, but it does not identify which model - 8K or 16K. Please advise as to which is required. Please provide this part number for both the card and the card reader as they must match to achieve the security link we desire to this system. HID 5006PGGMN Iclass SEOS Contactless smart card, 8K with reader HID Global Corporation 40NKS-00-000000 Signo40 wall mount.
• The solicitation specifies that an Installation Plan is due within five days of award. Would it be possible to extend this timeframe to allow for a Site Walk, as there was no pre-bid site walk? This will allow the gathering of additional information for a more accurate Installation Plan. There was a pre-bid site walk. We will accommodate the winning KTR if they need a site walk prior to Installation Plan.
1. What hardware and software is currently installed for the access control system. The system will be replaced by the winning KTR.
2. Be advised the EP1502 is discountend there is a replacement LP1502 is this acceptable? The Gov is not asking the winning KTR to purchase any Mercury LP1502 controllers. The Gov is only asking the winning KTR to install and configure the GFP Mercury LP1502 controllers.
3. Does the Govt intend to replace or add to the existing hardware? The contract is requesting the winning KTR to replace the existing system with the GFP software and hardware. The Gov is asking the winning KTR to purchase the items on the Appendixes.
4. The protocol to be used for yhee readers i.e. OSDP, WIEGAND , SF2F? the requested equipment can be configured to many different standards as the Seos =IClass prox cards paired with the HID Signo reader can be configured in many different ways.
