About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing inquiries regarding a federal contract opportunity for a load bank system.
The document clarifies three key requirements for the procurement. First, there is no brand or model specification; vendors must meet the minimum requirements outlined in the item description. Second, the government requires a 100 kW load capacity with a corresponding 100 kVA rating based on a resistive load bank with a power factor of 1.0, with the critical capability to switch to that load in increments of 10 kW or less. Third, digital gauges are preferred for the equipment, though analog gauges are acceptable since gauge type was not specified in the original item description.

Questions and Answers
1. Which model are you looking for?
Answer: There isn’t a brand or model requirement. The item description lists minimum requirements that need to be met.
2. What kVA rating do you require?
Answer: 100 kW load capacity is suƯicient. Given that our item description specifies a resistive load bank, our power factor should equal 1: i.e. kVA rating should match our load capacity of 100 kW giving us 100kVA. Crucially we want to be able to switch to that load in increments of 10 kW or less.
3. Would you prefer analog or digital gauges?
Answer: Digital gauges are preferred but analog is acceptable as we didn’t specify in the item description.
