QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: FPI SYSTEM (FA812518Q0014)

December 20, 2017

Question 1: In reviewing the FPI solicitation for Tinker AFB, we want to confirm that the Air Force is only receiving shipment of the equipment and no installation is expected or required. There are a few references in the RFP and SOW to drain components being “plumbed to the previous station.” We assume these statements are for information only and that the Air Force will perform all necessary connections to power, air, water, drain and industrial waste.

Answer 1: Yes, we are only wanting the delivery of the FPI System. We will connect the two stations, it just needed to be plumbed for this to happen.

Question 2: Please describe how the parts are handled during the testing process. We see no reference to automated material handling by the system manufacturer. Is there an overhead conveyor system with carriers, or are the parts and parts baskets manual transferred between stations?

Answer 2: The system is a manual system, no automation.

Question 3: Are any penetrant or emulsion chemicals desired with the procurement of this equipment?

Answer 3: No chemicals are needed.

Question 4: We see no reference to system startup, testing or calibration by the manufacturer. Please confirm that no site visit will be required by a manufacturer’s technical representative.

Answer 4: No site visit is necessary. Unless there is warranty work.
