About this file
This document contains a log of questions and answers related to a draft request for proposal for T53 engine overhauls and repairs. The U.S. Air Force Materiel Command seeks to award a competitive fixed-price commercial small business set-aside contract for depot maintenance of T53-L-703 engines. Questions focus on pricing structure, acceptable parts and materials, reporting requirements, and timelines. The log provides clarification that the contract will be awarded based on best price using LPTA evaluation and will have a single awardee. Only Honeywell and other pre-approved parts may be used, and the awardee must have a U.S. national who can access the Comprehensive Engine Maintenance System for reporting. The target date for formal RFP release is May 4, 2020.
