This is a DRAFT Request For Proposal (RFP) for the Medical Support Services (MSS) program. This notice also serves as the official announcement for the MSS program’s Industry Day that will be held January 05, 2011 at the Hope Hotel and Conference Center, Building 823, Area A, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433. Companies must register for this event at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MSSIndustryDay by 31 December 2010 The Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) has a requirement to fill permanent and temporary staffing shortfalls at military treatment facilities (MTFS) with qualified medical support personnel (non-patient care positions and services) to support healthcare operations. The MSS program will provide medical administrative support services to all AFMS organizations within the 50 states, as well as U.S. territories. The MSS program is a follow-on procurement to the Medical Administrative Support Services (MASS) contracts that were awarded in October, 2006 and will expand the scope to include biomedical/environmental, safety and public health services.
The MASS contracts were awarded as 100% Small Business Set Aside, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity, Multiple Award Contracts (MACs) and it is anticipated that the MSS program will be as well. The Air Force also welcomes comments as to the feasibility of setting aside one or more of the anticipated contracts (contemplateing approximatly 10 awards) for further small business status determinations such as Small Disdavantaged Business, HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, with the remaining contracts being awarded to eligible Small Businesses.
Additional MSS program details are provided in the DRAFT RFP.
