Solicitation #: FA8051-17-R-3017 Description: Skid Units
Question # Question Response
Foam System: you do not make any reference as to the type I.e. around the pump, direct inject or eductor. We would like to know what type of foam system the Air Force wants as there are cost differences between systems and operating preformce issues.
The Government will accept around-the-pump or injected. An updated specifications sheet will be uploaded.
You request two discharges to be installed through the tank, where are these to go I.E. preconnect, hose bed?
Pre-connects
Aluminum flatbed: Subfactor 1.1-Technical - Proposed Materials: Acceptability will be based on the offerors submission of material cut sheets that are compliant with the Government specifications for the following items:
* Structural members
* Compartment components
* Decking
No where did the Government specifiy what type of decking they were looking for.
Aluminum
In one section of the spec you ask for a walkway between the cab and the body but your spec reads as if it is a non walkway type truck whichs is correct?
Non-walkway.
How many hose reel does a skid unit need? Is one enough? 1 hose reel is preferred as long as it has the requested capacity.
I was inquiring to see if we could get some clarification on the specifications of the skid units. The specs call for the following "(f) Install off-road vehicle modifications such as improved shock absorbers and a body lift kit". Is there a specific size or type of body lift kit that you are requesting? Is there a specific size or type of improved shock absorbers you are requesting? Our company is well known for our 6" four link suspension lift system which is far more in depth than a typical body lift kit. Also, the specs do not mention tires and wheels. Is it the intent of the USAF to use the factory rims and tires from Ford? I just want to make sure we are on the same page as the USAF. If the USAF has looked at our website and sees our lifted trucks, we just wanted to make sure that the USAF realizes that those trucks are not using body lift kits and factory rims and tires. If you could please clarify what type of off-road vehicle modifications such as improved shock absorbers and size of body lift kit you are requesting, we would greatly appreciate it.
This is no longer a requirement.
An updated specifications sheet will be uploaded.
