FA8003-19-R-A007 Next Gen Ballistic Helmets RFP Attachment 2: In-Field Testing Capability Criteria
The following criteria will be used to validate the technical acceptability of the helmet and determine the technical capability of the helmet:
1. The ability of the helmet to easily integrate with at least two (2) of the components below (Yes/No basis).
a) AN/PVS-7B: 5855-01-228-0937
b) AN/PVS-7D: 5855-01-422-5413
c) AN/PVS-14: 5855-01-423-0524
d) AN/PVS-31A: 5855-01-618-8462
e) AN/PSQ-20: 5855-01-534-6449
f) NVG Bracket Mount: 5340-01-509-1467
g) Streamlight Sidewinder Flashlight: 6230-01-571-1311
h) SureFire HLM-01-TN
i) Princeton Tech Switch MPLS LED Task Light
j) Liberator V Advanced Dual Communications Headsets
k) M-50 Gas Mask: 4240-01-512-4437
2. The ability of the helmet to be easily worn with prescription eyeglasses, eye protection, or sunglasses (Yes/No basis).
3. Any fatigue, pain, and/or discomfort directly related to utilization of the helmet while worn for up to twelve
(12) hours (Significant/Acceptable/Minimum impact or pain).
4. Any fatigue, pain, and/or discomfort directly related to utilization of the helmet when integrated with at least two (2) of the components listed above in Item #1 while worn for up to twelve (12) hours (Significant/Acceptable/Minimum impact or pain).
5. The range of motion available while utilizing the helmet (Limited/Acceptable/Full range of motion).
6. The range of motion available while utilizing the helmet when integrated with at least two (2) of the components listed above in Item #1 (Limited/Acceptable/Full range of motion).
7. Whether the boltless retention system is able to easily accommodate weight variations when integrated with at least two (2) of the components listed above in Item #1 (Yes/No basis).
8. Any slippage of the helmet due to the chinstrap system when integrated with at least two (2) of the components listed above in Item #1 (Significant/Limited/No slippage).
9. The overall effectiveness of the helmet when executing standard law enforcement and/or contingency operations duties, to include usage with standard Security Forces (SF) equipment, weapons, and communications, and while operating in and around vehicles and aircraft (Not Effective/Acceptable Effectiveness/Highly Effective).
10. The overall effectiveness of the helmet when executing standard law enforcement and/or contingency operations duties when integrated with at least two (2) of the components listed above in Item #1, to include usage with standard SF equipment, weapons, and communications, and while operating in and around vehicles and aircraft (Not Effective/Acceptable Effectiveness/Highly Effective).
