About this file

The document is a Government Questions to Industry file for the Geophysical Signal Exploitation System (GeoSES) solicitation by the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC). The file contains 16 detailed questions designed to gather industry insights on potential contract approaches, technical capabilities, and implementation strategies for a software modernization effort. Key questions probe vendors' experiences with geophysical data processing, software language conversion, system integration, legacy code modernization, and transition planning.

The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, anticipated to be awarded in April 2026 with a 5-year base ordering period. The project involves modernizing a complex geophysical signal exploitation system, requiring software conversion, data processing capabilities, and integration with multiple organizations including Leidos, AcornSI, Sandia National Labs, and L3Harris. The solicitation encourages all business sizes to participate, with white paper submissions requested by August 22, 2025, through the AFTAC Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) 2024, Topic 6 - Enterprise Wide Integration and Architecture Modernization.
