Meters Compatible with AMRS New / Replacement Meter Installations The following list of meters, or equivalent meters meeting the AMRS meter specification, are UFGS compatible and will function with the AMRS platform. The AMRS native Data Access (DA) communication protocol is MODBUS/TCP.

1. Schneider Electric ION 8600/8650 meter product series.

2. EIG Nexus 1262/1272 meter product series.

All new and replacement meter installations, shall be provided with voltage and current safety disconnect devices or equivalent, so that the meter assembly can be worked on safely over the life of the meter installation and not require utility outages for servicing.

Existing Meters The following list of meters, or equivalent, can be modified to allow compatibility with the AMRS platform. These meters are not UFGS compliant and shall not be used for new or replacement installations. These meters may be AMRS compliant with hardware upgrades.

1. The EIG Shark 200 meter product series.

2. The E-mon D-mon Class 5000 meter.

AMRS Electric Meter Specifications The AMRS / UFGS Compliant Electric Meter shall meet the following requirements:

· UFGS 2007 Compliant (UFGS 2011 supersedes previous versions but is currently not AF approved)

· Utility Grade, 0.2% Accuracy or better

· Poly Phase (3 voltages and 3 currents)

· Transformer grade (Three five (5) Amp Current Transformer (CT) inputs)

· Form 9S Socketed Meter

· Internal Storage for Recording 2 values or channels for 90 Days, configurable using manufacture supplied configuration software. Must support Interval consumption (15 Minute) and Demand (15 minute Block Average)

· Clear and concise manufacture’s published procedure or method for extracting the internally recorded values, register sets (buffer) or channel data via Modbus and Ethernet

· Shall support Time of Use Recording

· Onboard Ethernet Communications, Base 10/100 with RJ45 connector or pigtail with receptacle connector

· MODBUS/TCP communication protocol is required.

· Front Display with ability to display all measured values

· ANSI Optical Type 2 Communications Port for Meter Configuration and Manual Data Retrieval

· Meter internal real time clock that can be set via the Ethernet Network

· Minimum of two external dry contact inputs that will count pluses from other devices

· Minimum of one (1) external RS485 serial port (not including the optical serial RS232 port) for communicating to wired MODBUS RTU Slave Meters on this external serial bus.

· The above requirements are for new, replacement or upgrade installations.

AMRS/UFGS Water, Gas and Steam Meter Specifications This AMRS Water, Gas and Steam Meter Specification defines the measurement and communications components for use with the AMRS and must also be compliant to the UFGS as stated below for the mechanical side of the Meter and must meet the following requirements:

· UFGS 2013 Compliant for Mechanical Dated November 2011; UFGS – 33 12 33.00 30

· Dry Contact Relay (Open Collector Transistor, Open Drain FET) un-wetted pulse output

· MODBUS/TCP Communications Protocol for Measured Values from a Pulse Counter Device wit Integral Ethernet. Device must have ability to wet the input.

· MODBUS/TCP Communications Protocol for Measured Values from a Tridium Jace Programmable Logic Controller with Integral Ethernet. Device must have ability to wet the input.

· Insertion, In-Line, Rotor, Electromagnetic, Vortex, & Ultrasonic Meter types are acceptable.

Where plumbing infrastructure is old and risk exists where extensive repairs would be required if piping is disturbed a non-intrusive measurement method is recommended like externally installed ultrasonic devices. New meter installations shall be installed in the building’s mechanical room or inside the facility near the point of entry. In either case, the water meter shall be installed to measure all the potable water entering the facility. If necessary, install multiple meters to assure all potable water is measured.

· The above requirements are for new, replacement or upgrade installations.
