QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS, ALL ARREST PROTECTION SYSTEM

1. QUESTION 1. When adding anchor points to an existing building and/or Aircraft Hanger.
Have you spoken and/or had a structural engineer sign off on this project? Many of these hangers/building are old and number one issue is Structural Integrity.
ANSWER: 94 CES Engineers did not determine the load capacity of the buildings. In accordance with the paragraph 3.12.1, Structural Analysis it is up to the contractor’s Structural
Engineer to perform a 100% load analysis as required to determine the excess load capacity of the existing structural components within Buildings 731, 746, 838, and 904 to support future
FAS loads.
2. QUESTION 2. Regarding paragraph 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 and in general references to the Fall
Protection PE and Structural PE in the Scope of Work document, it states that the PE shall be licensed in the state of Georgia, will PEs licensed in other states be an acceptable alternative to the GA PE?
ANSWER: Yes, the PE may be licensed in other states.
3. QUESTION 3. The PowerPoint shows the same photo for 731 & 746, which is not accurate.
ANSWER: See Attachment 25, Bldg 746
4. QUESTION 4. The structure in 731 is not laid out to be able to take the proposed system as shown on PowerPoint, what is Dobbins thoughts on next steps and where we go from here?
ANSWER: This is part of the Design Phase. It is up to the offeror to provide a preliminary, critical and final design for review and approval by the Government prior to proceeding with delivery and installation of each FAS.
