About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for a chiller repair project at Building 1850, Solicitation Number FA660625B0001, issued by the Department of the Air Force Reserve Command. The RFI contains four key questions and responses regarding the chiller installation, including underground conduit configuration, control systems, and equipment manufacturer specifications. Specifically, the responses clarify that: (1) underground conduits are not encased in concrete, (2) the existing Base Building Management System (BMS) uses Tridium Niagra controls, with Kleeberg in Ludlow, Massachusetts handling maintenance, and (3) Carrier Corporation is the required chiller manufacturer, with the specific models 30RC_025 or 030 to be installed to provide the required cooling load for the building.

QUESTION 01: Are the existing underground conduits encased in a concrete duct bank?
WARB RESPONSE 01: No.
QUESTION 02: Is there a proprietary controls contractor required for the controls portion of the install? If not is there a contractor that maintains the base BMS currently?
WARB RESPONSE 02: The existing Base BMS is Tridium Niagra. The controls company that normally does upgrades and maintenance on the BMS is Kleeberg in Ludlow, Massachusetts
QUESTION 03: We have noticed that neither the SOW document nor attachment 04 had specified a desired manufacturer. Is it expected of the contractor to provide a list of brands and models to be approved?
WARB RESPONSE 03: Carrier Corp is the required manufacturer. This is stated in the SOW Para 3.1 "Install two
(2) new equal capacity Carrier chillers model 30RC_ 025 or 030 that combined will provide the required cooling load for the building." The Brand Name J&A document also clearly states "Carrier Corp has been named the manufacturer for Westover ARB."
QUESTION 04: What is the HVAC control system currently being used? As we expect to possibly tie into it when installing the new units.
WARB RESPONSE 04: The existing Base BMS is Tridium Niagra.
