Questions and Answers

Question #1

In the CD given to us during the site visit of the subject solicitation, some project drawings as dwg files (in autocad format) are missing. Missing drawings are:

1. A1

A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5 are all in A1-A5.dwg, Please check appropriate tabs of provided drawings.

There is only C1 drawings in this project. C2 is not valid.

Question #2

In sheet A4 (7 of 9) Section B, I need to know the distance between the purlins. Normally, in A3 Existing Roof Axes, the intermediate distance b/w the purlins had to be specified.

All AutoCAD drawings are in scale, please refer to project drawings.

Question #3

What shall be the material of the downspouts, metal or PVC (in both cases please specify the wall thickness)?

Downspouts shall be sheet metal. For thickness and detailed information please refer to Scope of Work.

Question #4

What shall be the width of the skylights in the new roof? The length is obvious since it goes along the length of the roof.

Please refer to in scale AutoCAD project drawings for dimensions.

Question #5

What shall be the “dry film thickness” of the epoxy based primer to be applied on the existing metal support structure?

All paint on metal support structures shall be according to SECTION 09 97 13.27, EXTERIOR COATING OF STEEL STRUCTURES, and manufacturer’s recommendations.

Question #6

On page 2 of 284, it was stipulated as “metal and transparent plastic roof panels should be complementary and produced by a single manufacturer”. Well, all panels shall be complementary however, they may not be produced by a single manufacturer. If the manufacturers are different is is acceptable by the Government?

Sections of metal and transparent plastic roof panels shall be exactly the same. As long as they’re factory made and have exactly same section dimensions, they are acceptable.

Question #7

Shall both surfaces (sides) of the sandwich panels be painted RAL 1015? Or only the exposed surface shall be painted? Please advise.

Only exposed surface (outside) is required to be painted RAL 1015. Inner side is optional.

Question #8

Please clarify if there is Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) in this building roof.

No, please refer to Asbestos Register List, provided with project documents.

In Item 14 of your Summary of Work you stated “New roof top fans shall suitable to convey air up to 200 degree C in continious service.”But,however in M1 sheet you advised to be installed Dynair FC type fans which max.operating temperature is 80 degree C.

There is a high temperature version for emergency smoke exhaust in case of fire. Please consider as 200 degree C version of Dynair FC718T model.

Question #10

Would you mind verifying that do you really need to be installed a fan conveying air up to 200 degree C even for a regular warehouse.
