About this file
This technical specification details a federal contract for furnishing and installing bedroom furniture for 123 rooms in Building 1423 at Aviano Air Base in Italy. The contract requires a complete furniture set for each room, including a four-drawer under-bed storage unit, three-drawer chest, two-shelf bookcase, three-drawer nightstand, one-drawer desk, two-position chair with upholstered fabric, and a slat bed on metal legs. Strict material requirements mandate the use of hardwoods like Oak, Beech, Ash, or Maple, with a cherry finish, and prohibit softwoods and engineered wood products.
The installation involves removing and disposing of existing furniture, with work performed during regular hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30-17:00). The contractor must provide all tools and materials, use a self-supported installation method without modifying walls or floors, and complete the entire project within 90-120 days of order receipt, with installation specifically targeted for 6 weeks. Additional requirements include obtaining a contractor's pass, using the facility's limited public elevator, and coordinating with Dorm Management. A commercial manufacturer's warranty must be submitted separately, detailing warranty terms, covered items, and replacement procedures.
